Livingston Community Shed was started in 2022 to give older people a place to socialise, meet new friends, share experiences and contribute to the local communities within the area.

The Shed is a member organisation of the Scottish Men’s Shed Association and our aim is to improve the mental well-being, reduce isolation and improve the overall health of our members who come from a wide range of backgrounds, life experiences and skills.

The members meet each Monday and Friday morning (10am) at The Barn Community Cafe, Carmondean Community Centre, Nether Dechmont, Deans, Livingston EH54 8AX

We also meet at Mosswood Community Centre garden on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10am.

We have workshops in both these locations and offer members a steady flow of projects and work to keep them occupied.

The Shedders are a friendly bunch with kind hearts and a great deal of fun and laughter in the work that we do within our communities, so feel free to drop by and meet us!

Our Shedders tackle far too many community projects, including the upkeep of a number of community gardens, furniture  repair and refurbishment, design and manufacture of dementia aids for care homes, repairs to garden furniture including benches, painting of fences, building metal and timber sheds and various other tasks that arise.

Some of our greener fingered members offer their services to assist elderly people in tidying their gardens in the town whilst others are into woodworking with the shed's lathe, table saws, bench drill, sanders, band saws etc.

We also have a small keen photographic group and have a stock of photographic aids available for members use.

The shed has a wide variety of equipment and tools for all these activities, available to members to develop their expertise and skills on these tools.
